Wisconsin People & Ideas magazine annually hosts statewide fiction and poetry contests, which award cash awards of up to $500 for works by the best Wisconsin writers as well as other prizes, including a reading at the Wisconsin Book Festival.  Featuring articles by and about the best scientists, artists, writers, and community leaders our state has to offer, Wisconsin People & Ideas is your guide to contemporary Wisconsin culture at the intersection of the sciences, arts and letters.

Featured poets for 2014 include Dion Kempthorne (Richland Center), Jeanie Tomasko (Madison), and Judith Harway (Shorewood). Karen Loeb (Eau Claire), Jennifer Sauer (Madison), and Marilyn Shapiro Leys (Prairie du Chien) will read their prize-winning stories from the 2014 contest as well.
