Heather Swan is the author of Where Honeybees Thrive: Stories from the Field which won the 2018 Sigurd F. Olson Nature Writing Award. Her nonfiction has appeared in Aeon, ISLE, Resilience Journal, Edge Effects, and About Place. Her poetry has appeared in places such as Poet Lore, The Raleigh Review, Phoebe, The Hopper, Cold Mountain Review, Midwestern Gothic, and Basalt. She teaches writing and environmental literature at University of Wisconsin Madison.
